Wednesday 27.01.16 - HEMU - non-Euclidian rhythms

By Malcom Braff (CH) / BCV convert Hall / free entrance

10:00-12:30 / 13:00-16:00

For several years, Malcolm Braff developed his own theory of rhythm, which he called the ‘theory of non-Euclidian rhythms’. He now teaches this theory and its related learning method at the Musik Akademie Basel and continues to develop its concept and to explore its many implications and openings in collaboration with researchers in such fields as mathematics, physics, ethnomusicology, and electronic music.

During his master class, he will present the basis of his theory and will propose some practical exercises to allow participants to become acquainted with the concept and to integrate it in their playing style.

The master class is open to all.
